Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession whose members are registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). Ther role of a Chiropractor is to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system i.e. bones, joints and muscles. In addition to they they consider the effects of these disorders on the nervous system and each individuals general health (your physical, emotional and social wellbeing).
Chiropractors use hands-on treatments (manual therapies) known as adjustments (manipulations) of the spine and/or joints along with a variety of soft tissue techniques. Treatment techniques could also include ultrasound, shockwave or laser therapy. The aims of treatment are to reduce pain, improve function and increase mobility thus greatly effecting a persons quality of life. It achieves this by supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself.
